Semantic issues
There are different kinds of detectors used in electron microscopy. Therefore, it is necessary to specify the type of the detector. Detectors can be broadly classified into direct and indirect detectors. Indirect detectors have a scintillator associated with them which converts the electron-matter interaction to light.
